New York City

New York: places (and new LIVE! Store) you need to know

We started 2020 with everything! We arrived in New York for the grand opening of our first store and we need to say: we couldn't be happier! The location: the charming SoHo neighborhood - an area is super cool and busy in the city.

And if you are planning to visit the Big Apple, just take a look at the tips that our marketing manager Danielle Reis, who was there, selected for you:

Recommendations on where to stay

New York hotels are wonderful! But if you had to choose, I recommend the Arlo Soho Hotel – It’s modern, cozy and in a great location. At the entrance there is an awesome candy store. But prepare a small suitcase, the room is very compact.

Another super cool Hotel is 11 Howard, the super modern hotel where I stayed. When you arrive, you will notice something totally different: it does not have a check-in desk. So to enter, just sit at one of the tables and register on the available iPads. Then you are directed to one of the rooms - small, but super modern and functional. Instagram worthy. Ah! for nightclubs, the most requested night in the city is right there: The Blond. The dress code is super strict but it’s worth it.

For those of who can't go without an amazing breakfast and LOVE to  try different things: Tous Les Jours, a sensational bakery, inspired by French and Asian cuisines. It has green tea cake, mango croissant and curry croquette.

Another place we recommend is Jack’s Wife Freda where you will find a super authentic breakfast. The atmosphere is small but welcoming and the service is really friendly - the waiters are very bold and nosy. LOL Ask: Where is the bathroom? And you will receive the answer: “We don't one! You have to hold it! ”Lol.

If you are lost on the streets of Little Italy in NY, then you need to go to Gelso & Grand! The Italian restaurant has a modern and classic twist. The pastas are all homemade and the food is delicious!

Following the Italian line, Il Buco is also wonderful! The restaurant started in 1994 as an antique shop and today is one of the most loved in the city!

Another great option is ABC Kitchen: the restaurant that occupies a rustic and elegant space within the ABC Carpet & Home furniture emporium. It has been a point of reference for visiting residents and celebrities since it opened in 2010.

What to visit

Regardless of your itinerary, you need to include a visit to the points with the best views of the city! The tip is to visit The Vessel on a sunny day, because the place is a completely open structure. We also recommend the Empire State building to have a view from above the city - we are sure you will not regret it! The animated effects of King Kong are super fun.
